having enough experience with three schools in second language

Hi every one, I am Mozamel Hasson who has been in Canada for almost three years. I came her to study English as a second language. So far, I have studied in three different schools with their difference styles of teaching; McGill, Queen and Concordia.
I studied in McGill in 2006. In that school I have learned how to use the basic Grammar. In that year I did not know how to pronounce the alphabet. That was because of my feeling toward the language. When I came to Canada, I was always saying that I am not going to learn English. The first teacher in McGill bushed and encouraged me to put me in the situation that I know how to learn English. As a result of that I was confident to learn English and I decide not to stop learning English even if I don’t learn the language successfully.
In January 2007, I went to study in Queens. Their style of teaching was close to the teaching of the universities. Students there do their work individually and they do a lot of research. Anyhow, I learned their how to wait and work hard enough to reach what you want and to know that nothing come easily. But what I did not like there was that we did not practise listening and speaking enough. When I asked about that they told me that listening and speaking are the skills which you can learn at home, in school you have to know what is going wrong with them. They take care abut listening and speaking but not as writing, reading and using Grammar.
In September 2007, I came to study in Concordia. The first session I studied in Canada was in it. But I do not remember anything from that course except the teachers and some of the students. When I came to study in September, I did the basement taste and they put me in level 5. I disappointed for that. I remembered my mark in high school in Saudi Arabia. I remembered that I do not know how to learn English. However, as soon as I passed level 6, I decided to continue learning but what did change my idea stop learning. I found that Concordia also has its own style to teach a second language. It was different style of teaching to McGill and Queens so; I wanted to learn the new style as I am learning English and getting closer to get the University of Concordia. However, in level 6, I found myself in Queens because the highest marks were put in reading and writing and that made it easier for me to pass the level. And then that also what happened in level 7.
I think learning a second language is difficult for any person who want to learn. That depends on the style of the school that you are learning at. Also, it depends in your first language. For example, learning English for Arabic people is harder than for Spanish, French or Germaine people. Also, I think learners a second language should use the language as that they use it for life not for school.

Thank you for passing the article
